Zambales: A Quick Beach Escape
Summer season has started and the race for being tanned, beautiful beach photos, different barkada get away has begun. Zambales, a place famous for its stunning beaches, great waves to surf, Mt. Pinatubo, and many more! The province is already famous before even social media was invented. You can clearly see the influence of American and other nations to the place upon roaming around the area, not just because a part of it has become the base of the Americans but it shows how the Filipinos can easily adopt with other culture.
The Philippines was famous for its beaches since then. Who would've thought that there are stunning beaches hiding in Zambales? The major eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the early 1990's made the area popular and even the whole country. The eruption of the said volcano was dubbed as the Beautiful Disaster by many due to its stunning views in the crater. This eruption made the nearby beaches to have good quality of sand and wider beach fronts.
Originally we intended to go to the province to participate to the Beach Volleyball Tournament that will be held at Crystal Beach Resort in San Narciso Zambales. At first I did not set my expectations high to the venue because I've been there before. All I want is to participate to the competition, disconnect from work (academic requirements) and to catch up with my friends.
We decided not to stay in the host resort since all we want is to have a quiet place to rest. There are plenty of resorts around the area since the commercialization and advertisements through social media really helps with the boost in tourism (for more information whats in Zambales you can check this website http://pia.gov.ph/provinces/zambales ). The place give us the right amount of sunlight that made us tanned during the competition and a healthy those of VitaminSEA which we are all looking for.
Sunsets we're just perfect and very relaxing while feeling the warm breeze all over your body and listening to the waves. The long stretch of beach is also perfect for any recreational activities. The waves were also ideal for surfing (board rentals are available). Night swimming is strictly not allowed since the waves are stronger at nights. One thing that I really like in the place is there are lots of lifeguards and flag indicators (warning flags) if the beach is safe for swimming or not.
How to get there (Brgy La Paz Resorts):
If your coming from Cubao, Caloocan, Sampaloc or Pasay ride a Victory Liner bus that is bound to Iba Zambales via SCTEX. You can check their website here ( https://www.victoryliner.com/ ) for the rates and schedule and get off near San Sebastian Church in San Narciso, Zambales. Ride a tricycle (Php 30) just across the street and tell the driver to drop you off to your preferred resort. Going back to Metro Manila is as easy as hailing a tricycle outside the resort going to San Sebastian Church and there are buses bound to Metro.
ZAMBALES is one of many places in the Philippines where you can experience the best sunsets. I will surely comeback to this stunning place! Don't forget to practice LNT during your travel nomads!
